Complementary techniques Assisted reproduction
Institut Marquès has incorporated a new technique into its laboratory: Fertile, which allows for the selection of the best sperm to increase the success rate of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) treatments in cases of sperm DNA fragmentation. The FERTILE® chip is the latest technology for sperm selection.
This device, patented by Harvard University Medical School & Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), is designed to select sperm with superior morphology, less DNA fragmentation, and lower levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS).
FERTILE® is indicated in cases of DNA fragmentation in sperm, a pathology that can cause infertility, repeated failures in Assisted Reproduction techniques or lead to recurrent miscarriages.
This is a single-use chip consisting of two chambers connected by a microfluidic channel. The semen sample is deposited in the inlet chamber, and the classified sperm is collected in the outlet chamber. This procedure carries no added risk and does not affect the embryo culture process.
