Complementary Assisted Reproduction Techniques
Time-lapse incubators like the Embryoscope allow embryo division to be monitored live without having to remove the embryos from the incubator. They incorporate an internal camera that captures images of embryonic development. This allows biologists to monitor embryo development in real time, avoiding the temperature changes and oxidative stress that would be associated with observing embryos under a microscope outside the incubator.
This new technology maintains optimal physiological conditions for embryo development and provides a snapshot of the beginning of life. Our patients can also view it from home using the Embryomobile.
The use of the Embryoscope is indicated for any IVF treatment, as it allows for better embryo selection by monitoring their progress day by day and avoids exposing them to external factors during development. Time-lapse incubators increase pregnancy rates.
It is especially recommended for couples who have undergone several unsuccessful IVF attempts, as its monitoring allows them to select the highest quality embryos for transfer.
All Institut Marquès patients who have undergone IVF with Embryoscope have the opportunity to watch this "life-size movie" from their own homes.
Using a system developed by our center and for the first time in the world, our patients can observe the development of their embryos online before they are transferred: they can "enter" our laboratory and view their embryos just as the embryologists themselves would.
