Dr. Ferran Garcia graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Barcelona (1985). He later completed his training in Andrology at the Institute of Urology, Nephrology and Andrology of the Puigvert Foundation, an internationally renowned center (1986–1990). For more than 30 years, he has helped thousands of patients with male infertility issues and has built an outstanding career in leading reproductive medicine institutions. He served as Associate Physician in the Andrology Unit of the Reproduction Department at the Institut Dexeus in Barcelona (1992–2005), where he also coordinated the Erectile Dysfunction Unit within the Endocrinology Department. He was Head of the Andrology Unit at FECUNMED (Granollers) from 2003 to 2025. Since 2003, he has been the Head of the Andrology Unit at Institut Marquès.
In addition to his clinical work, his scientific and academic activity is equally significant. He has been an active member of national and international societies (ASESA, SEF, SPA, ESSM, SCGO) and served as President of the Spanish Association of Andrology, Sexual and Reproductive Medicine (ASESA) (2017–2021). He has been part of the Associate Editorial Board of the International Journal of Andrology and has participated in numerous scientific committees at national and international congresses.
Dr. Garcia is co-author of several reference works in the field —including Practical Andrology and the Andrology Manual— and has authored more than 25 scientific publications and over 80 communications and presentations at national and international conferences. He has also received the first prize for best review paper in the 6th and 7th editions of the Ángel Bayo Awards organized by ASESA.
His career combines clinical experience, continuous professional development, and a deep sensitivity to understanding how reproductive and sexual disorders affect not only physical health but also self-esteem, relationships, and overall quality of life.
