IMSI increases the chances of pregnancy

According to a study, performed by Institut Marquès during the Congress of the Spanish Fertility Society 2010, pregnancy rates increase and miscarriages decrease if the best spermatozoids are chosen from a morphologic point of view (with no vacuoles or less than 2 small vacuoles).

The IMSI technology

According to this study, 41% of couples with long-term infertility and several previous IVF attempts could get pregnant thanks to the new IMSI technology which evaluates sperm morphology with a magnification of up to 16.000x in order to rule out those spermatozoids with morphologic abnormalities which could be related to genetic alterations.
