At Institut Marquès we are aware of the importance of the man’s role in the assisted reproduction processes. Therefore, we are innovating every day in order to make the men’s participation in the treatment as comfortable, effective and successful as possible.

Furthermore, we are doing everything possible for the man to feel fully involved in the process with his partner so that both of them can share equally all phases and emotions that this type of treatments bring with them.

One example is the use of the Embryomobile, an application created by Institut Marquès, which allows the couple to follow the development of their embryos online while they are still in the laboratory. This system, pioneer in the world, allows both members of the couple to be more involved directly and in a joint manner in the process and it benefits them mostly from an emotional perspective.

On the other hand, at Institut Marquès we pay special attention to our sperm sample collection rooms, which we are constantly updating to make this step previous to an insemination or an in-vitro fertilization as comfortable and pleasant as possible for the man.

Since male infertility is associated to 50% of the conjugal infertility cases (in 30% of cases as solely responsible and in remaining 20% combined with a female factor), our centre has also an Andrology Unit specialised in Reproductive Medicine.

“Identifying the reason or reasons of the infertility allows us to implement the most effective treatment in each case, avoiding repeated failures and the physical, emotional and economic exhaustion that those entail”, claims Dr. Ferran García, Head of the Andrology Unit.

Finally, in “our small tribute” to the role of the man in the assisted reproduction, we would like to point out one of the basic conclusions of our sperm quality studies: sexual activity is beneficial if frequently practiced.
