Observing the embryos during their development through the Embryomobile increases the chances of pregnancy in an In Vitro Fertilisation treatment

Looking at images of the embryos while they are developing in the laboratory incubator increases the pregnancy rates of patients who have undergone an In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) cycle by up to 11%. Moreover, the results improve in direct proportion to the number of times they are connected for observation.

This is what Embryomobile allows: a system developed by Institut Marquès so that its patients can see how their embryos are growing in the time-lapse incubator via the Internet, in real time. For five days, from IVF until they reach the blastocyst stage, the future parents have a direct connection with the camera inside the incubator thanks to this initiative.

With this application, in an exercise of transparency, the clinic wants to offer security and peace of mind to the future parents during the days preceding the embryo transfer, a particularly useful and close option for international patients.

The emotional connection is the key

Institut Marquès has studied the response of nearly 1,000 Embryomobile users and has presented the results at the most important scientific congresses in Europe. In this way, it has confirmed for the first time the positive impact of emotions on the results of assisted reproduction treatments.

Institut Marquès has shown that the impact of emotions on pregnancy rates is underestimated. Psycho-Neuro-Immuno-Endocrinology (PNEI) is the study of mind-body interrelationships and their clinical implications. According to this interdisciplinary scientific field, the improved receptivity of the uterus could be explained by a woman’s emotional connection to her embryos, if she can see them daily before implantation.

According to the results of the 934 patients who participated in the study, the higher the number of times the embryos are viewed, the higher the pregnancy rate, especially after 30 viewings. In other words, the success rate of the treatment increases in direct proportion to the number of times the patient connects to the Embryomobile to view her embryos.
